I have around 4ft^3 and I would like it to have as much sq as possible so for tunning i would think around 35hz

in order to tune 4 cubes to 35hz you'll need 2 four inch round ports 10.96 inches long. If your looking for something differant like a slot port or a single round port let us know and someone will help you out

will a slot port sound better then circle port

You wouldn't notice any sound differance between the 2. It's just whatever is easier for you to build
