Ported box in small space???

The smaller the box, the longer the port needs to be to achieve the same tuning. The 15cf box even with just holes in it is tuned to 35hz. If you made them 26" long like the 5cf box, it would be tuned to 17hz.

For instance:

15 cubic foot box

2 flared 6" aeroports

4" long ports

33hz tuning

15 cubic foot box

no port, just 2 6" holes drilled in side of box

.75" deep holes

35hz tuning

5 cubic foot box

2 flared 6" aeroports

4" long ports

64hz tuning

5 cubic foot box

2 flared 6" aeroports

26" long ports

33hz tuning

Ok, we will be using PVC from home depot, will we be able to buy some sort of flared end to screw on to make it a little easier to seal it and potentially have less of a perfect cut circle?

Any tips with pvc?
