Besides the subwoofer enclosure itself, wouldn't the T/S parameters of the subwoofers come into play too regarding the tuning of the port? Not all subwoofers of the same size are created equal!

idk but i dont see how those subs in that box and on that amount of power can hurt your ears unless u r putting your ear right by the port lol

how do u have your amp settings set

A box has a tuning frequency, which is basically the frequency where the back wave from the sub is most perfectly being inversed and coming out in phase with the front wave of the sub.

The sub's output and peakyness will be affected by this depending on the sub, but the sub doesn't actually affect tuning frequency at all (other than giving you an idea of what you should use). Its a matter of the speed of sound and the length of sound waves at different frequencies
