I know that this sub is junk but whatever, this is my first system ever. i have no clue about building boxes but i heard that a ported box is the way to go if you want loud bass. i dont really care about the quality. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

these are the specs:

the recommended Ported Box Dims: 1.70 - 3.55 cu.ft.

height: 19 inch

width: 17 inch

depth: 16 inch

19x17x16=5168.00

5168.00/1728=2.99 cu ft

and to find the port:

(17+0.75)x19x16-0.75/1728=3.37

is ths correct? i dont know what the 3.37 is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif though is that how big the port is??

any help would be greatly appreciated

bump

and also, what would the inside of the box look like?

Like this:

_______________

I _________ I

I I I

I I I

I I I

I I I

I I__{_____}__I

How big are the peices that make the port) the second row of I's and the parallel solid line?

you are not going to fit a very wide port on a box that is 17" wide with 15" being used for the sub and 2 1/4"" used for the thickness of the wood since you will have 3 boards. 2 outside edge ones and one internally for the port. So you need to make your face wider.
