i have my impreza hatchback. more of a mini wagon though. i wanted to know from somone with experience... i have done subs up ports back, subs back ports back and sealed boxes. but never subs up port(s) up... what do you think i should do for my next experimental build with 2 15" re se's ? i want to do 8.5 cubes tuned to 32 hertz... would subs up ports up be louder than 4 5" aero's faceing back. also if i do port(s) up should it be a slot port rather than aeros?

ive tried many things also and i had the best luck (loudest) subs up/port back.most spl guys i know run this way also
alright cool. i dont want to waste my time doing it if itll be louder the way i usually build it ( subs up ports back )... thanks for the input !!!

If I were you, with your car, I would be tempted to try out an enclosure pushed all the way to the back of the car, with a large slot port firing up on the back-most part of the top of the enclosure...and then have the subs firing forwards...might be worth a try

ive done both, the sub up port back was with 4" aeros and my current box has 4" aeros with both up. and ive had 3 other boxes that were both up
just realized you were in a FIT.....bet that thing hates the extra weight back there:eek:

my sis has one and it is bad with just 4 people in it.

yeah its got 270 pounds or so back there. 140 pounds of batteries and the box and sub are like 110 and the amp is like 20. i measured from the bottom of the wheel well to the ground and its like an inch lower than the front

^thought it'd have some potential //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif...I'd give it a try, rickymac
alright. so with these 15's you think i should try the subs firing towards the windshield and then a slot port firing up at the furthest back of the box?? so almost like a wall except its not sealed off and the port is firing up? just wanna make sure i got it right??
