port length questions

hey, i am thinking of building a 2.3 gross cube box and porting it to around 32 hz. Calculators show a 4" by 11" port, but would i be better off using two 3" ports? How do i figure out for two ports?

No, i am not interested in a 28" long 6" diameter port, and even two 4" will be too much.

I am thinking about getting an ed 16k or 16O. No flaming please.

divide your internal volume by the number of port you wanna use and use that in the calculator. make each port this length.

Number of Ports: 2.00 qty

Port Length: ~14.00 inches

Tuning Freq= 31.97 Hz

and that was gross. it requires 2.2 cubes net ported in low 30's, and volume calculation on a 4" X 11" port comes out to right around .1 cube. I figure i might go a little larger if i use two 3" ports.

(2) 3" has a slight advantage in port area (14.1 sq in vs. 12.6 sq in), but the 4" will have less surface friction inside the port. 4" would also be shorter, so it might fit in your box easier. . .

I would go for the 4" aero port if it was me.

I would do more port area for a 15 in a box that size.
