port facing corner? what to do

hey all

so like the title says my new pioneer bookshelves have the bass port facing the rear of the box and im going to make some mounts but i was wondering if it would be better to have a flat surface parallel to the port or have it facing open to the corner

Depends on how close to this surface you are talking about. If its within a few inches then itll hamper the output. if its +3" then you should be fine.

without the flat piece behind the port that i was thinking about puting there the port would be about 6.5 inches from th point of the corner
