Port diameter

So I'm messing around with the port size calculators on-line and I keep coming to the conclusion that its MUCH easier to tune lower with a small diameter tube. That being said, what are the pros and cons to running a short small diameter tube to reach the desired tuning vs. using a larger port diameter tube with more length? Thanks in advance.

IMO that would be a moot point with properly designed ports.

more port area = more efficent port and going with too little port area, even with an aero port, will cause port noise...which is bad.
