port design question ?

the only thing that would assume, is that you don't have to make the box bigger for the displacement of the port.............but what do I know?

 
Also if you have a small box you don'y have to wind your port around inside like a rat maze.

You could try to make the port longer, but there might be other reasons with the box won't extend lower, or even the sub. You'd have to reverse...
