How do you determine the length of a port and how much space the port takes up.

Im constructing a sub enclosure 33x13x19(LxWxH). The box will be built with .75" thick mdf board and I need the port to have a length of 34.25". 31.5x11.5x17.5=6339.375/1728=3.6686198c^3

The port is 5" wide.

5x11.5x34.25=1969.375/1728=1.13968461 c^3

Is the amount of space the port takes up actually 1.13968461 c^3 or have I done some miscalculation?

3.6686198-1.13968461=2.52893519c^3.

I need to know how to determine port length and volume.

port length is length from opening to mid way past turn and then to the end. The volume is the LxWxH

port length is 27.75 in your sketch

How can the RE Port calculator say that it is 34.25" of port length when it actually 28.5"

Also to determine port length would it be determined like this?
