Port & Sub Orientation in a Corvette

I've got a buddy who is wanting to put some subs in his Corvette; it's a C4 model, 1985...he's going to want to run 2 10s"...

What is the best way to fire the subs and port? I thought sub up, port up would be best, but I've never owned a hatch so I don't know...

Any of you guys ever do any installs on one of these?

If it were me I'd start with sub up port back in that.

Sub up port back seems to work in a lot of body styles. That would be my first bet as well.
