Pop occurring as I turn ignition key off

Pop occurs when I turn the ignition key to the point where I can remove the key (past both the accessory *and* off position). This occurs whether I have had the car running or not.

I imagine it could be several things, any suggestions as to various possibilities?

i had a pop when i turned on my car. it was because i had the remote for my amp hooked up to the fuse box and not the remote turn on lead from the HU

I had a pop also, when i had my stock HU. i swapped it and it's gone.

My "pop" comes from turn-off. I had the Eclipse CD8443 and was getting ON-pop. I installed the ON-pop eliminator (Stinger), and then got OFF-pop--never got rid of it. So, now I have a CD8455 and still get the OFF-pop (even get pops when I open the CD tray and such. So, maybe it is not with the HU and is with one or both of the amps??? I have an old school class A picasso and a JL 500/1.

Thoughts?

I have the same pop coming from my Sony CDX-F7710, but mine only occurs when i insert or eject a cd.

Hmmm... well, a thought... I will check with the guys at the shop. I had both HUs installed there to get the 3-year warranty. In the meantime, more thoughts most welcome....

if you had it installed buy the shop, i wouldnt be surprised if they did run the remote wire to the fuse box. i have seen it done like that before. ive see shops do real shitty work enough times, that i wont let anyone else install any audio equipment in my car. when i bought my alpine they told me the installion was free and i told them that i would install it my self. it was a very nice shop to.

Why would one run the remote from the fusebox? It is not really a shortcut.

Hey, I get a pop if I just hit the power button turning off the unit, too - mean anything to anyone?

If it is, it is not with the amplifiers. I just pulled the rcas on both of them and I still get the pop whether I power the unit off with the power button, or turn off the unit with the ignition key.

actually, if the rca's were unplugged that would lead me more to believe it is an amplifier ground. where are they grounded to?

sand and clean your amplifier and Head unit grounds. Make sure they are tight and secure on BARE metal.

check the resistance of the ground with a DMM.
