Poor Man's Buss Bar

Here's a thread for you poor guys like me who don't really have the cash for expensive buss bar. Since I'm about to start competing in AS1, I had to take my battery out and I knew that I'd need buss bar for all my ring terminal connections. I wasn't too happy because I knew that buss bar would be expensive (to me). I was talking to Chad Riggs about my problem and he linked me to a thread where a DB Drag competitor was on a tight budget and need some buss bar. What the guy ended up doing was taking a trip to Home Depot and bought 3/4" copper tubing and flattened it out by either smashing it with a hammer or a vise. Then you can buy bolts and lock washers to make the connections. After all was done he measured the resistance and it came out to be .001 ohm. I decided to do the same thing with some 7/8" copper tubing Now it will be easy to swap out my rear battery (for daily) and only a single battery (for competition).

That looks like a viable solution to thick expensive buss bars....wonder if any diff in the thickness would make a diff?

It's screwed down to my wooden platform. First I flattened it down with a vice then I took a rubber mallet to it on the concrete floor.

Yes. I just used copper because it was free for me (my dad does HVAC) it's a better conductor than aluminum.
