Poll: Driver's License Mandatory Re-Test every 8 years

This question has come up a lot with me, and I have to say... living in the city of Pittsburgh has gotten me to the point of smoking weed left and right to control the amount of road rage i experience on a daily basis.

I live about a quarter mile to this one main street in my town called west liberty ave. Anyway, its about 5-10 blocks away. On the road there there is ONE traffic light, and 2 turns from stop signs.

Lets just say in that little bit of distance i encountered FOUR old drivers, 1 of which was going 25-30mph, braked suddenly in the middle of the road. then continued driving like nothing happened. the second driver decided he would just drift @ about 10 mph through a stop sign and make a turn with no signal....again, ***** was probably 90.

the third ******* decided it was time to switch lanes 3 times in the course of 2 city blocks. signaled once. the last peniscleaner i got stuck behind on a 1 lane road where he was going 25, then 35, then 20, then 15, then 30. on his ******y cell phone.

I truly believe a federal law should be enacted to toughen EVERY state's driver test to include a harder written test and driving test. It should be mandatory every 8 years to re-take the test to keep your drivers license active. I have to renew mine every 4 years and pay 35 dollars. **** that plan, make it every 8 years @ 75 bucks. Agree?

I don't think it's the interval, it's the tests themselves - they're a joke.

actually, i live at home currently, mother and her husband are moving to new stanton, pa and were planning on selling this house but due to my job location, i might tell them to move and just take over paying the mortgage for this house (in a sense renting it)... so i'll be in pittsburgh for awhile. son of a *****.

and they wonder why there are so many accidents...

start giving people money off ANY insurance carrier if they take defensive driving tests and score a certain score, make the tests harder... less idiots on the road, less accidents... and the idiots who need to be on the road would get a better understanding of.. uh.. how to drive.

Thing is just because they are a bad driver don't mean they can't pass the test. A lot of it comes down to people just not paying attention. The old people, well yes, I agree they need to take the test a bunch of times a year, lol! Still they may pass the test and bam, they are right back out there causing havoc because they don't feel the need to pay attention.

re-tests FTW! And this is coming from someone who had difficulty passing the eye test at the DMV (im legally "blind" in one of my eyes)
