Polk MOMO or Pioneer Rev? Or something else?

I currently have Infinity Reference 6x8 (ford ughh) speakers all around being pushed by a very small amp (20x4) but better than just off the stock HU i guess.

When I put in the infinity speakers, although the highs were much better, all my bass seemed to go away! After doing some research, it seems that the bass is still there it's just that the mids/highs overpower them.

Anyways, I don't want to put a sub in my car, and I know that I won't get bass remotely close to if I had a sub. I do, however want to replace the speakers with something better that will at least give me the best bass response I can get.

I was looking at the Pioneer REV TS-D681R and the Polk MOMO MMC570 speakers. I would love to keep the same coaxial's in the front as in the rear, but if putting a component set up front will make it tremendously better SQ I would do it as long as the rears will supply the lows.

Any suggestions? I wouldn't be adverse to putting in a bigger amp if needed, but if the momo's or REVs will sound decent off the small amp I have, I'd love to save the money. If I do need an amp, I'd prob end up with a JL 300/4 that a friend will sell me cheap.

Any suggestions for getting the best SQ with decent low bass response without a sub? Thanks!

I've heard both and with a small amp, the Pioneer will sound better. The polk momo I heard had good sound with 75 watts rms per side. Why not use an adaptor plate and run some 6.5"?

i have the older momo mm6 comps and I love them but they do need more power, I run mine off roughly 150 per side, they werent nearly as good on 50w.

getting "real good" bass out of 6.5s is a little hard unless you have some door work done and youll also need pretty good speakers...

you can try finding a set of speakers with a low frequency response and just run em full range but youll be limited by only sending their rated power to them... more or less

there is no replacement for a sub tho

Well you could get a small 8" sub...with a box that leaves a very small footprint, almost the size of one of those thermos lunchboxes. I'd say go with the MOMO's though. I had a set of MMC-6500 which is a 6.5" component set and they had decent bass for what they were.
