i have a 99' VW passat. i bought 2 pairs of the Polk MOMO MMC650 2 way speakers. thinking they would easily be installed. yea right. i had to fab my own holes for the import brackets. gettin to the topic at hand. while i was removing the original speakers, i saw the input to the woofer. Four wires? what is that? at first i thought two went to the tweeter but ther are two more for those as well.
PROBLEM:
i installed a new deck. a blaupunkt casablanca CD52. then i installed all the speakers. all the speakers worked when i connected the last speaker. then i turned off the radio and went in my apartment. i came back in five minutes to put all the door panals back on, turned on the radio and no sound. i made sure all my connections were good and they were. so one by one i looked for a short. the rear right speaker was the problem. i released my connectors from the input to the speaker and the 3 other speakers turned on. what is that? then i can connect the rear right speaker again and it works. so every time i start my car, i have to disconnect and reconnect that speaker. i do not think the fault is mine, but if there is any insight from anyone, please any help is well appreciated
