So i'm finally going to put my system in my truck. And i'm going to start ordering some stuff on Friday. Now my question is, how good are the Polk Audio speakers? I'm looking at the Momo ones. If you look at my sig. I've read somewhere, that Polk Audio has gone down the hill a bit with the quality of their stuff. I don't know how true that is or not, as I have never owned anything Polk Audio before. I think the rest of my system is looking pretty good. It's just the speakers that I wanna get more info about. But if you have any suggestions, please say. Also, try to keep the speakers around $200 if possible. I have only so much to spend on this stuff.

Its going to depend on your ears. Ive owned Polk Audio stuff since the late 90s and have been very impressed with it up to the last year or so. Bought a set of Momo 5x7 off this forum, and blew them (it was my fault, not the speakers) they did not sound as good as I had expected.

I have owned the older DB that use to be Polks top line and cost around $400, the EX, EX2, and EX3s, and been very happy with there stuff up to this point. The Momos just didnt have the sound quality that I was use to with Polk (strong upfront mids, usually).

I had them amp with 100W each off a Orion 4002, but they sounded good just not great like I was expecting.

Is there a Circuit City in your town? They sell polk and you could get a demo there.

I have owned many sets of polk components and I must say they sound **** good for the money. The problem that polk has a problem with is there shit won't hold up. If you like to play your music loud most of the time you will blow there tweeters I promise you that. There tweeters are weak as hell they will blow out in a skinny minute. There momo subs sound really good for the money also. But let me tell you they won't last long. I bought two 8's one time and they lasted about 6 months. The cone comes loose from the spider never seen nothing like it in my life. Both of them were the same way.
