Hey guys,
I'm new to the site and I'm looking for a little help with understanding what exactly the parts on the amp board are called?
Before I provide the picture, I just wanted to give a little more detail of the sound system and what I hooked up to cause the damage in the picture.
So, I'm running all polk audio:
Amp is a Class D 4 channel amp which can be run at 125 watts x 4 channels @ 4 ohm load
6 1/2 in components which are 100 watt rms @ 4 ohm load
5x7 coaxial speaker which are 60 watt rms @ 4 ohm load
For the past 2 days, my coaxial (back speakers were installed and sound great with no problems)
My gains were hardly touched on the amp.
I soldered my wiring to the 6 1/2 component on the passenger front side, turned the power on and the speaker sounded very weak. I went to my amp and hardly adjusted the gain (I mean barely moved it) and i saw smoke coming out of the amp. I turned everything off to let it cool and disconnected the passenger front speakers.
After a while, I tried the other side (driver front) component along with the back speakers and it sounded great with no smoke. I, then, wired up the passenger front speaker again and it sounded great. I let it run for another 30 minutes and the amp started to slightly smoke again.
I removed the amp from my car and pulled it apart to check out the board and this is what I noticed:

In the pictures, the two (2) parts burned up are labeled C20A & R27A on the amp's board. Can anyone confirm exactly what parts these are (is it a diode (blue) & a filter (red/brown color)?
In addition, what could have caused this to happen??
All help is very much appreciated.View attachment 26547973View attachment 26547974View attachment 26547975View attachment 26547973View attachment 26547974View attachment 26547975
