I have just gotten a car and the first thing i wanna do is give it some bass. Im completely new to car audio and dont have a fkin clue whats up.

it be great if i could hear some suggestions on what to do. I think i wanna go dual 12s. But i dont know what make or kind to get. Or what amp to power them.

All the slang and electrical talk i dont understand yet. Ive been looking on the futureshop website at all their subs and amps. But like i said im totally so when i read the info or specs on the stuff i dont know what to look for.

Please guys any help or advice at all would be great.

If you want you can drop me a line at magical_mushrooms@hotmail.com, or if u have msn add me.

Thnx

hey man i got a 1993 toyota paseo and lemme tell u i havnt put my shit in yet but i have everything im just waitin for the weather to get a little warmer...but from the measurements and shit i have a dual 10" bandpass box with 2 10" pioneer subs and from the measurements it seems that its gonna be a ***** to get the box in the trunk...i looked at the measurements for a dual 12 inch box when i was shoppin for my shit and u wouldnt be able to get it in the trunk...thats y i went wit two 10s...i know different boxes are diff sizes and shit but im just sayin b4 u go out and spend ur money make sure ur gonna be able to get that shit in the trunk regardless if itll fit once its inside

This setup will only get you around 200W RMS, unless your getting two 12s...?

USX600D Amplifier - 375x1 @ 2ohm (watts RMS) (only 20amp fuse rating!)

TS-W2541C 10" Subwoofer w/ 4ohm voice coil - 350 watts RMS $102.99

wire the VC's down to 2 ohms and tht would be nice.

Now Keep the amp, its a great amp (I had one). Then get a single 12" or 15" that can be wired to 2ohms. Like "dual 4 ohms" or "2 ohms" or "dual 1 ohms", look for those when shopping for a sub. Since it will match up with the amp. And look for an RMS of around 400-600ish. The amp, and subs can be bought @ http://www.thezeb.com Check out Audiobahn for good prices also.

ok, listen to avistar! and mgaid.....other than that...it looks like the blind leading the blind in here. Avistar's suggestion is good, but there is better....and u still didn't let us know the MOST ur willing to spend. I know u sed u don't have a lot now, but u can get money. SO, how much do u want to spend...and what type of bass do u want????????? Really loud bass...or more accurate bass?

y stay away from bandpass?...its fine for beginners im a beginner myself and ppl who havnt built boxes b4 arent gonna make the best box the first time they make one a bandpass is fine for sum1 new...im guessin he doesnt know how to make a box but if he does then go for it but a bandpass would be fine for the time being

bandpass aka one note wonders.....have a very poor freq response.....they may sound good at a certain freq. range assuming they are built for a specific sub......other than that they are useless......

yes, from goddy....(an experienced member) and me, bandpass sound like fart...they are in NO WAY accurate. The best box for beginners is a sealed box! peace
