black silicon or the sealant wont show because your going to paint the edges' underside.

you mean paint the first baffle overhang lip? -- (where the plexi will be sitting??) wouldn't it be easier to just use clear RTV silicone so you cant see it either way?

Well 100% silicone is not really an adhesive. I would like to use something that acts as an adhesive for the plastic to wood + a sealant. Like the RTV stuff

that why i said to seal...the sheet metal screws would hold it down against the silicone.

and 100% does adhere quite abit..ive worked in hardware for 5 years and like 100% over anything else out there, mostly because it seems like other silicones get old and hard and break off

i would not use silicone or any type of glue , screw it down with gasket of sorts, if you want to remove it you can, if you silicone good luck getting it off. paint the back side of the plexi where the wood touches this way you wont see the wood or, make a trim panel to cover screws leaving a clean window.

Heres a vid of one I made. I used a thin white self stick gasket thing, used for doors windows, then predrilled oversized holes, and used flat head wood screws and finnish washers. Air tite and can still remove it if I have to.
