plexi on a box tacky?

No plexi isn't tacky imo, I like to see the sub motors. Eventually I plan on doing a t-line for a pair of 8"s with a plexi baffle to show off the complexity of the enclosure

that would be cool.. you could do that and do a beauty panel that covers the screw holes and have a piece in the middle to make a divide in the plexi.. put some neon in there.. if you know anywhere that does etching that would look cool too.. Have you given any thought to lexan?

The hardest part of getting a plexi setup is having to finish the inside of the box as well as the outside. If done right, not tacky at all.

well im not doin a divider so no need to divide the plexi all of that is just bracing and everything will be paneled off so u wont see screws holding the plexi in .. im going to flex stone the interior of the box hunter green "same color as truck" then prolly light it up with some white led's or somthing now i have to convince myself to put that big of a box in the truck instead of XXX 12's

Like sed before i think tht its look really good and professional if the interior is done in as good of a job as the outside of the box.

Do what Fish did. I forget who designed it, I think Camry designed it...

It was a plexi window with bracing in the design of a city skyline. It was DOPE.

Don't copy the skyline. That's lame. But make a dope design, and paint it pretty colors.

Do 12's. 15's are unnecessary.

Hard to say, I would suggest 2 15s ported but you mention about space issues. If its not going to be a big issue, 2 18s sealed.

I think with the plex window and what you plan that would look very nice, and not tacky IMO.

One of the first boxes I saw similar to that was in the mid 90s with a pair of JL Audio 10w6s. Even though it was a 4 order bandpass, it was painted white on the inside with "JL" on the panel that held the subs. Had a light inside but cant remember was it neon or something else.

Looked great and not too flashy. I say do it.

i think 2 18's sealed would be cool ... just dont know if 2 12's would be just as loud... kinda tit for tat... at the moment i have 2 XXX 12's they have some scratches and what not on the cone so recones will prolly be needed just to keep it lookin good ... recones and baskets for 2 18's is going to cost me around 270 bucks and about half that for 2 12" recones
