Please help!

I am new to the Car audio world and am looking at purchasing some JL Audio 12-W7 or 10"-W7 subs. I need help on a combination with the correct amps. I am putting this into a 1968 Mustang Eleanor. Money is not a limiting factor. I also need some great components and amp for this same application. I don't want to have to buy again for making a mistake at first.

thats pretty nice... i would go with the 12w7, JL 1000/1, JL XR comps, JL 300/4 for the speakers..... and then any nice HU if u dont have one already... this is only if u want to go all out on JL.. most people would most likly tell u ur wasteing ur money but i also have all JL and am very happy

I agree with this setup! Except a large JL Amp probably the 450/4. You want to feed the Z6's as much power as possible.

I think I am going with the Pioneer Avic N2 that was suggested by DK. He also suggested and I am going to buy (2) 12-W7's and either the Boston Z6 or the JL components. The reason I was leaning towards the JL is to keep it JL not a show stopper. I was wondering if I needed (1) 1000/1, (2) 1000/1 or (2) 500/1 to push the woofers? Will (1) amp be able to push the components?

i'd get 2 1000/1s (1 amp per sub). and 1 4 channel amp.

Done! What about the components? Diamond, Focal, Boston or Jl Audio? What are better of JL the ZR or the XR series. What size components will I need? I assume I will have enough Bass already....

the size you will need depend on what size your car takes or if you'll build kickpanels or fabricate work. diamond and focal would be the better choices for comps (unless you wanna keep it all the same).

Yes DK, I am building a custom kick panel. Will the D971 be ok using the JL 450/4 you suggested or should I use the Diamond amp?

with those diamond comps, i'd hit up a diamond amp. Jl's configurations and amps are weird and made to work with jl equipment. check out the d6 series amps.
