I purchased a set of PG Xenon X6.5 comps off of IkeSound around Christmas time. After installing them, one of the midwoofers stopped working. I tested it the resistance with my DVM and it doesn't register. So now after the voice coil is dead, I go and email IkeSound since I'm under a 1 year warranty with them. They email me back with an RMA number and tell me to include a $35 MO since they're not responsible for any shipping charges (them to manuf. and them to me). The whole email thing happened about 1 1/2 weeks ago and whatnot. So I started thinking to myself... if I go shipping them back to IkeSound, I'll end up paying $35 (return/exchange fee) + $15 (ship) which will put me at a loss of $50. Now keep in mind... back in December I purchased them for ~$100 shipped. I feel disgusted just thinking about it. I'm starting to think that it is not really worth it at all to ship the speakers back to IkeSound.
I am looking for opinions on what I should do in my situation. I'll either just buy a new set (different brand) of components and sell the partially working PG Xenon set or try or buy another set of the same speakers. Also... am I correct in saying that the voice coil is shot on the mid woofer since the ohms don't register on the DVM? I tested the other mid woofer and it registers.
By the way... I have 150w x 2 on tap for components. Thank you.
