Please Help! Problem with My 1000/1 and 12w7

To me it sounds like the X-over is on full pass or set incorectly, also when you get your DMM check the out put of the amp by setting the DMM to AC volts and connect the red lead to the positive terminal and the black lead to the negative terminal. The other thing i think it might be is that the sub is wired out of phase.

Not sure if this will help at all but, When I put my ear up to the box I can hear music that sounds like it's coming from the back of the sub inside the box. When I turn it up, the music gets louder but it gets even more distorted. It sounds like I'm blasting a small earbud from target (and listening to it from 2 feet away). It's not loud at all, just distorted. I CAN feel a little thumping on the box, but the sub doesn't move one bit. It's really strange because of the direction that the sound is coming from. It's like the sound is hitting the inside of the sub, but never getting to the cone.

Problem solved! I think. Well, to make a long story short. I picked up a DMM on the way home. Checked the voltage of the amp and the ohms of the sub and everything checked out. I fired her up and still had the problem. I turned it up a bit to make sure and all of a sudden "silence". O shit, I just blew the speaker. Walked back and threw the DMM on the 12w7 and sure enough 0 reading. Well, I was flippin when I saw that.

Luckily I had 3 10's in my other car. I grabbed them and threw em on the 1000/1. Let me just say they ****in pounded louder than ever! I called up the dealer where I got the 12 and told them I was bringing it back and it's defective. I'll shoot over there tomorrow to get the RMA process going.

I'm just glad it's nothing I did. I spent so much **** time I was sick to my stomach wondering how the hell I screwed it up. Whew! Thx for the replies guys. I appreciate it.
