I know you guys are probably tired of hearing this. but after days of looking at amps my brain is boiling and I need some help, please bare with me, I'll try to be short.

I need an amp that will be suitable to power 4 beautiful 8" faital pros for a 2way front stage. these baby's are rated 130w rms, but I heard they can take more. 4ohm btw.

I was thinking a 4channel would be better than 2ch since running a 2ohm load puts more load on the equipment, although it's louder or so I heard.

I ordered one amp for this purpose but as if by God's will, my order got messed up and they sent me a different item. Now I don't know if I wanna buy that amp again since I've seen many like it, which makes me think it's a badge engineered amp. This amp I previously bought was a polk audio d4000.4 class D amps. there's a lot of these floating around, they deliver good power apparently, but I doubt the sound is as good as the OGs.

what about getting 2 2ch amps? is that a dumb idea? I don't wanna go super low impedance cuz im scared I'll blow my speakers or my amp.. human is afraid of what he don't understand..

I'm starting to think I should increase my budget some, and get an actual quality second hand amplifier that will last me; that I will be able to repair.

Help a brotha out:fro:

u gotta give us price range but as a guy said on another thread ppi has a really nice 4 channel ($169) but I do think u should get a 2 channel I'm sure ppi has those that are almost the same (I haven't looked for them in a long time) check sonic electronx.. 2 channel because if amp is lets say 150x2 at 4 ohm it maybe 200-250x2 at 2 ohm, so if 8's are 4 ohm svc u just run 2 off each channel get 100-125 each.. honestly is u get a big enough 4 channel u can run all 4 8's from 2 channels and 1-2 subs from other 2 channels., we sold thousand systems ran like that and that was mostly just a Memphis 50x 4 channel so sub only got 150 bridged but they sounded great (wouldn't win any spl comps but great daily driver) so if u get a 150x4 or so should do well
