please help me upgrade my subs

i am currently using 2 kicker comp 12s in my car and they are just not cutting im looking for a more clean bass with more boom the kicker comps are just like anoying bass

i have $220 to spend and i would like to get a pair for that much

you mine as well save up 20 more bucks and get an fi Q 12 for 240 shipped. Well known SQL driver. ficaraudio.com. Sub 1000 rms so amp will work great to power it with 900 rms

2 12 Kicker CVX's D2, wired to 2 ohms, 900 rms and that would work great.....

Actually that's not true if a sub is on clean power and in a good box then it can sound good

i have heard many kickers that sounded great.....

Amp may be clipping the power to the subs and making them sound bad or it could be your box, there is a lot that can cause things to sound bad.....

and im pretty sure the box is good

i had 4 of them but then they just like started to **** maybe the amp is bad for them so i threw out one box because i was using 2 and the bad box broke so im just using 2 subwoofer now in the good box maybe i should just keep the 4 comps and get new boxes i dont know maybe its the amp

i had them all 4 at 2 ohms it would hit great and sound good but the amp cut out the bass at high volumes them i put it on 4 ohms and it will play now without the amp getting hot but it sounds real shitty

2 12 Comps are rated at only 300rms together.....Considering your amp pushes 500rms at 4 ohm, and 900rms at 2 ohm, I would say they are being over powered no matter how they are wired unless your amp is turned WAY down...

id go with 2 12" cvx...ive got them in 10s and they POUND...no shitty sq or anything...the cvx are WAY better overall compared to the cvrs...or u could go with a single 12" or 15" lvl 3 or even toss in $55 more and get the lvl 4 12...u cant really go wrong with either and theyre close to ur price range

4 of the comps in a good box on 900rms would still be over powered, 4 of them wired to 4 ohm would be best and they would get pretty loud...

yea instead of getting new sub i should just get a new box and run all 4 again
