here are the controls:

I have it hooked up series parellel to two alpine r's like so:

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/graphics/Support/Tutorials/wiring_images/DVC_Series_2.gif

and am having a hard time figuring out how high to turn some of the dials.

Mainly, what should X-Over be set to?

How high should bass boost be? When it is low there is nearly no sound, and when I have it all the way up, my rear view mirror shakes out of position after a few hits....should I find a middle ground?

Also, some bass tones seem to be really weak(higher ones) while the lows are thundering and shake the drivers seat.

If you could simply offer your advice as to how to set my amp I would really appriciate the feedback.

Thanks Much!

In the amplifier section there is a stick on how to set your gains with a dmm

The x-over should be set somewhere in the region of 80 hz

also what type of enclosure do you have your subs in?

You should expect a slightly peaky response in a ported box

You should also expect the subs to not hit as hard in the higher bass, your crossover may be filtering out the higher freq's depending on where its set

CT

I dont' know what that means, but it sounds intriguing.

I am still a noob at wiring....all I know was I was able to achieve some sweet power by bridging my amp and wiring series parellel to the 2 dvc type rs....this was with the xover set to "full", the level all the way up, the LPF all the way up, and the bass boost all the way up.

Thanks for ur help and quick replys guys...awesome stuff.

DO NOT TURN THE BASS BOOST ALL THE WAY UP!! The amplifier will send a clipped signal, thefore causing over excursion of the subwoofer. Your subs will be dead in no time. I had my bass boost turned like halfway up and fried a L7 in a matter of 3 hours total play time.**** the bass boost.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif From what I understand, dont use it at all.

I will go turn it all the way down now lol.

Infinity, just cranking everything up is not the way to get the sound you want, well it's not if you want your equipment to last. you would be alot better off having someone with a fair amount of knowledge set your equipment for you.

If you have the ts1920-2 that puts out about 900rms so thats some good power, a little under powered for the new style type r's but it should still bump pretty good without cranking everything up, so check what the other members have said and see if they are wired out of phase

No but if you keep it that way, you will most likely end up with some paperweights
