at least its semi easy to get to the alt from the bottom.

The alt grounds it self through the metal of the engine. As mentioned in the big 3 trhead, find your old ground points and add to them. Or find a non-essential bolt on your engine and ground from that.

The alternator is already grounded to the engine block. It helps if you also ground it to the body of the car. Unloosen the bolts that mount the alternator to the engine block and put the ring terminal on it (Instead of taking the bolts all the way out, I just clipped a small piece off the end of the terminal and slid in onto the bolt). You may also want to do a little sanding. Now, connect that ground to a bare metal spot on the body.

AH i getit. thanks!

or if you want to eliminate that wire you can just run a 2/0 piece of welding cable from where the alt mouts to the back where your batt/ amps are.... thats what i did in my rex b/c i didnt wanna do what yoru trying to do

i hope you meant the batt under the hood.

i ran a piece of 2/0 from the ground of the alt to the engine to the back where my amps and spare battery was located
oh i was just gonna run a piece of 1/0 from my engine to a ground. is it possible to use my starter battery like that? engine block (since my alt is already groudned by the engine) to the negative on the battery or the ground where the negative lead is?

if your trying to solve dimming it shoudl work by grounding from there, but i really do not no... i know running it to the back helped tremedously for gettin power from the amp

gave me the greatest potential difference
