Please help me find where to ground... *PIX*

my engine block. i have no idea what is what on here and im gonna be installing my 200A alt. where do i put the ground?

here are a couple shots of the engine to give you an idea

Nice job on the deadening, only place i can see to possibly ground is in the first pic all the way to the right on that white metal, i guess thats the kinda ground you mean lol

you talking about a big 3 ground? Follow the batt ground for one. There is a ground wire SOMEWHERE already from block to frame, you might try to find that??

cha.... the freakin alt is on the bottom of the car.

and near impossible to run wires through as well.

When I have trouble finding an easy block ground connection I jack up the car and get underneath (with jackstands) and have a good look.

You want the cable to be as short as possible. And, thin sheet-metal, like the strut tower (white area pointed out) isn't the optimal ground (but works if no other options are available). Is there a bolt near/on the subframe that you can use to ground? Be sure to get your drill with wire brush wheel out, and shave away absolutely any anodizing or paint that may be on the surface that'll make contact with the connector end. If you live in a high humidity/salt area, or just to be sure, you should spray the area with a squirt of paint or battery terminal sealer AFTER you have the bolt and cable end tightened back down, too.
