Please help me figure out what I need

I have a basic understanding of car audio, but this will be my first system and I need som help figuring out what I need and how to wire it. BTW, this is for a regular cab S10. I will be getting infinity speakers for the doors, can't remember the model number but they are around 50 watts rms each at 4 ohms and I'm getting an 8" RE sub which is a 4 ohm DVC. I understand that you can only wire a 4 ohm DVC at either 2 or 8 ohms so I need to figure out what kind of amp woud be best for this system. Can you have 2 channels at 4 ohms and the other two at either 2 or 8 ohms? Thanks for any suggestions.

That's what I was afraid of, trying to avoid that due to more complicated wiring and lack of space. Should I just power the speakers off the head unit (which will be 4X25 RMS) and get a mono amp for the sub? Is there a small enough amp that I can power a 4 ohm DVC sub at 175 RMS that I can wire either 2 or 8 ohm? Thanks.

get a 5 channel amp or somthing similar. you dont want to run your door speakers under a 4ohm load (i think) and then the 5th channel goes to the sub. if you only have 2 speakers and a sub, just dont bother with the other 2 channels or bridge them @ 4ohms to the door speakers and keep the gain down. (these can be expensive though)

otherwise, get a cheap 2channel amp that puts out 100w, and then a mono amp that puts out 100w, and run 4awg wire from the battery, get a distrobution block that goes from (one) 4 guage wire -> (two) 8 guage wires, and power the amps this way. its really quite simple. the amps wont be very large, i assure you. i bet you can mount them under the driver\passanger seat. then make a PORTED BOX (please?) for the RE8 in the back somewhere.

its not really that hard =)

get a cheap mono\2channel 100~200w amp and leave the gains down for the sub

and get a 2 channel 100~200w amp for your mids\highs

easy.

I doubt that there is any 4 ch amps that are 50w rms and can be bridged into a 2 ohm load.
Soundstream Rubicon 404 (50w x 4 @ 4ohm, 200w x 2 @ 2ohm bridged,

100w x 4 @ 1ohm) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Or step up to Rubicon 604 for more power (80w x 4 @ 4ohm, 300w x 2 @ 2ohm bridged).

Problem is finding them......they stopped producing them a while ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif But if you can find one, they are killer, killer amps!!

Would this sub sound better in a ported box? I'm more interested in sq but it obviously won't make any difference if I can't hear it in the first place. Also, the sub is rated at 175 rms, but its a DVC so does that mean 175 total or each coil? Thanks.
