I need some advice on which setup will be better. Please no biased options, just which is better.

Ok, so out of these two setup's (do to income) which should I get-

(2) Skar Audio 15" VVX-15D2 /w Skar Audio SK-1500.1 = $930

Or

(2) Sundown Audio SA-15 D2 /w Sundown Audio SAX-1200D = $870

FYI, if you can make a better/harder hitting system for less/equal the price, please feel free to recommend away, but I dont want to sacrifice quality to much.

Why are you wanting D2 subs? Are you planning on running the amp at .5?

And don't you think similar questions have been asked before? This question is asked almost as much as "Kicker L7 or RF P3?"

A specific answer depends on how big of a box you plan on making, what your goals are(SPL, relatively flat response, low extension), etc.

I say sundown sa's can handle waay more than rated and sound great although i have never used the skar's i hear they are good but i have used sa's and they performed well beyond my expectations both are good brands though. I would say sq skar, spl definitely the sa's

Thank ya'll both for the quick reply. Ok, so ya'll both recommended the sundown amp over the skar, so for that matter im going sundown.

Now for the subs. What are the pro's and con's of having either one? Does the Skar hit harder, better sound quility, better materials, ect.ect... Or is it vice versa? Like I said, I dont care for the brand, as im not a fan of any particular company, just one's that offer a good balance between cost and quility.

Plantinseeds, the only reason I put the SAX-1200D is because the subs are 600rms apiece, which two SA-15's equal 1200rms, I didnt want to max the subs. But I did read some where that said the SA-15's can handle more then its rated, but didnt say by how much though. But if you think that the SAZ1500D would be a better match, I'll get another $150-200 and grab the SAZ1500D instead of the SAX1200D. And again, thanks for the guick replies!

Everyone has been great and very helpful, besides this guy^.

Wow bro, really? **** much? So you expect me to scroll though the entire forum to find a post like the one I posted to get an answer?

And I apologize in advance for the bad language.Even though it's in *****, I still know what it's says.

We are just sick of the same questions that we see EVERY day when all you have to do is search the forum.

And no, you do not have to scroll through the whole forum. It has a beautiful thing called a search button in the top right corner.

But for your original post. Sundown and Skar make very similar products, and their's a reason behind that but I'm too lazy and I'll let you do that work. Their subs perform almost identical except the Skar's do have a better low extension. As for amps, spend your money on sundown.

Also, you say you want quality, but this quality will mean nothing if you don't have the proper electrical and do not know how to properly set gains. But I will just leave it at that.

yea i would do the sundown setup.. but i would go dual 4's instead of dual 2's, unless you are wanting to run .5 ohm.

How was I being a dick? I figured letting you know that this question gets asked all of the time would help you out. Why would you want to waste everyone's time(including yours) asking something that you could have figured out the answer to with fifteen minutes of research?

By the way, you didn't answer any of my questions. Why are you getting D2 subs? What are your goals? How big of a box are you trying to make?

You should calm down, take fifteen seconds to grow the fuck up, and answer these questions so people can help you out.

For real man. I asked the same type of questions when I got here and got the same basic answers. Most guys aren't trying to be ***** but they do get the same questions A LOT. If you roll with the punches and answer the questions these guys ask they will give I more helpful info than u expect. Also @MisterDeadeye and @pro\-rabbit are probably in the top 5 of the 30ish guys on here that have any real knowledge and are willing to share it.... provided people take time to listen to them rather than get confrontational with them.

Either would be fine, Skar has a deal where you can get a box and subs it might be cheaper, I don't know.

It can be .5 or 2 ohms right?
