I have a Kenwood DNX6140 hu installed in a 2007 GMC Sierra HD with the factory Bose system. It was installed using all the necesary wiring harnesses and interfaces to keep stock functions. I went to a car audio store today and had 2 12" kenwwod shallow mount subs and a kenwood 1200 watt amp and on the way home the stock speakers started going in and out for a few minutes then just completely quit but the subs play fine and havent been cutting in and out. The volume was around 1/4 of the way up so I know the factory speakers are not blown, what could have caused this and how can I fix it? I tried reseting the hu, nothing happened, could it be a bad interface? What can I try?

The best thing to do is to go to the place where it was installed and have them look at the interfaces im new to this site but love car audio and love kenwood. the head unit is fine is somewhere in the wiring and or interfaces just a wire came lose or something not tighten down

This is my guess:

Your headunit is probably hooked up to a metra gmos module which takes the rcas front and rear of your head unit adds in the onstar capability and door chimes and sends it to your factory amp. The subwoofer and subwoofer amp is connected directly to the sub out of the head unit and not going through the module. Either the module went bad or you have loose wiring. Even the rcas connecting to the module could have came loose.

Good luck.
