Please help, i have a question

Hello everyone,

To be upfront and honest with everyone i signed up just to get help. I did look through the forum to be sure this was the right place to post this. Hopefully i was correct.

My wife has a 2002 grand am gt with the momsoon sound system. Her monsoon system was locked out so we bought her a new HU. We then found out her stock monsoon speakers were blown.

So we went to walmart and just bought a pait of Sony Xplods. The Monsoon has a dual +/- wires that run into a clip connecting it to the amp. The Xplods do not. So i ran both positive wires to the positive ends and negative to the negative ends, tested it and it put out sound so i put her speakers in like that.

Whenever the Xplods try to put out bass they crackle horribly. The speakers themselves do put out audio. I checked everything on the HU and turned the loudness option off and the equalizer set to vocal etc etc. However her car has no bass at all. As i said, when it tries to hit the speakers crackle.

What is causing this and how can i fix it?

I appreciate any help with this.

The only way to really handle this problem is to bypass or remove the Monsoon amplifier and wire the speakers directly to the head unit. This would get your Sony speakers to sound better.

Sounds like you have speaker wires crossed, or touching something they shouldn't be
