Please give opinions

I want to buy a sub/subs and an amp for about $900. I was thinking of getting JL Audio 500/1 amp and two 12w3v2's or one 15w3v2, but I'm not sure.

Please give me your opinions on whether I should buy something else, Alpine, Kicker etc. I am leaning more towards SQ than SPL.

Orion 1200D

2- 12'' Diamond D6's.

2 - 12'' Soundsplinter RL-p's

If you are going sq, then scratch out the alpine type r's. Those are more geared towards spl. If you want alpine for sq check into the type x's. Very nice woofer. But out of all of those up there I would go with the IDMax's. Cant go wrong with that sub for sq, not to mention they look sexay from behind. Good luck!

I looked at the Orion 1200D, It costs almost the same as the JL but has less power at 4Ohms, I would like to run at 4 ohms for better SQ. The 500/1 runs at 500 watts RMS @ 1.5 - 4 ohms at anywhere between 11.5V - 14.5V, the orion only runs 425 Watts RMS @ 4 ohms and I'm sure thats at 14.5V which my car does not run at. The 500/1 also has a parametric equalizer and the special power supply that does not let the power drop with voltage drop, for me the JL seems better. What do you think of the JL subs though? Will they be quite loud at 500 watts RMS. I looked at the ID Maxes, how loud are they? I hear they are good sound quality, and what amp should I run?

If I fully powered one IDmax 12" it should be very loud right? with alot of SQ aswell.

What amps would you recommend, remember not too expensive.

I would do 1 idmax of the jl 500/1. Should sound nice. I am sure you will be underpowering the sub some. If I was you would save up and do 2 of the idmax's off a 1000/1. That would sound awesome. If you are set on the orion1200d then that is a good amp as well. Just keep looking around as sometimes people sell on here. Or check out some internet brands like brhama, RE,soundsplinter. They are some good products there and cans sometimes catch them cheap. Peace!
