other than the fact that it sounds shitty, is it bad to play higher bass than the port is tuned to? i got a bed that takes up my entire bed and seats 4 12s *currently 2 b/c i just got the box*

i noticed it picks up INSANELY on stuff around 30-50hz but on higher stuff it sounds as if im running a 10" sub in a small sealed box. it gives vibrations but not much sound at all. is this bad for the subs in any way? i have a SSF so i dont play anything below 27ish or so but what about stuff above the mid 50s? i cant just block all that bass off lol

You really should only have to worry about overexcursion below tuning frequency unless you are running way too much power to the sub. Chances are that your enclosure is not tuned for a flat frequency response and that you have a large peak in the response curve followed by a sharp drop that can be made worse by the size of the interior of your truck. You mentioned that it sounded out of phase. Have you checked the phasing of your speakers.

To answer your initial question, you should only be playing frequencies above tuning, so no it will not hurt your subs.
