Hey guys, just wanted to see if any of you know how I could possibly blow a preout on my head unit. I was swapping out amps from my MTX to my PPI and I must have grounded my RCA's out some how. So when I turned the car back on and powered up the amp.... nothing. I switch the RCA's to the rear preout (I have 3 preouts total) and bam... I got sound. Back to the sub out, no sound again. Needless to say Im pretty pissed off. Seeing as how I ordered my Pioneer from ebay and not from an authorized dealer I get NO warranty support. So now I have a MINT condition Premier head unit that I haven't used for more than a month that has a blown preout.... URGH!!! Anyways, if any of you know how to fix this or how much it'd cost for me to send it out please let me know. I really would like to have my non-fading controls back for sub level.

You did check that the setting for the sub output to be on was on? You're lucky as far as just blowing a pre-out goes, i screwed up a ground on an amp, and somehow the whole **** thing fried.

Ahhh i believe i have just done the same thing. My sub output on my panasonic HU is not working. I don't know how it happened either. Bah...this blows, my ground was always connected. Now i am thinking that my ground isn't so grounded...*sigh*

Exactly, it strikes without warning and really PISSES you off doesn't it? I just bought this deck like a month or 2 ago and now its screwed up already. You should check your front and rear outs if you have them too. I soon found that I fried not only my sub out but my front out as well. This is because the fronts and subs use the same connection point. While the rear uses its own, seperate connection point. The front and sub plug right into the head unit while the rears come off a seperate, almost dongle cord like connection. Oh well... I talked to my buddy and he has a P1R for sale so I think Imma snatch that up. If you figure out how much it is, or if you can fix it yourself let me know.
