played my Flutes(Silver Flutes) today..(review)

Im glad you liking your flutes. IMO for price they can't be beat, i love my flutes. Quick question, what do you mean by your headunit not being active capable? Do you mean it only has two channels? You could just get the clarion eqs746 to get the 6 channel preouts then run that to your active crossover. Right now i don't even have a headunit. I run the line out from my mp3 player straight into the clarion eq, then that to my active crossover and amp. Works great
yeah, these flutes r nice.My h/u is not active capable meaning i would have to get an electronic xover to run active and its nothing im really wanting to do at the moment. I like have as less componets as possible meaning i just like to keep it simple. Maybe ill get an active h/u in due time but i run a double din and just thinking that they dont run cheap for an active h/u.

Been running my Flutes for well over a year and to this date I have yet to find a set of mids priced under 60 that can touch them. I have mine crossed at 4. They sound great right up to about 160+watts each. Feed them a good 100 and u have heaven. I am running mine passive threw hertz crossovers so I have yet to unleash there full potential other bthen a few mins of running them active via my 2 channel to see what kinda power they could hold.

P.S Ridden try some quality crossovers. At first I was using DD crossovers and then changed over to hertz as I got a crazy deal on them and the difference is night and day. Yea ur still running passive so u can only expect so much but a quality crossover when running passive makes a world of difference.

I'll chime in as the one stated above that has his in pods. I've had mine for about 7 months and for $30 a piece you simply CAN NOT go wrong. Now that mine are broke in I just lowered the HP point to mine from 50Hz to 40Hz @12dB/Oct. They handle it all with ease. I'm still crossed over in the upper range (LP) around 4-4.5kHz. I was just listening to Korn at full tilt (Eclipse AVN6620 HU- Volume was at 72/80) and they showed not one sign of stressing. They will play plenty low and be happy doing it.

I'm now looking into getting a set of the 5 1/4"s to put in my wifes car to replace the 4 x 6 mids in there now. With a small adapter ring I should have no problems getting them in. For $20 a piece these should kick a$$.

cool man, yep, they get are hard to beat for the price and sound lots better than mids costin 2-3 times as much. Im gonna switch out my Crescendo passives and replace em with some cdt 480's and see if they will get even better. Im sure active would be even worlds better but maybe sometime in the future

The 5.5's look like they'll be pretty solid up to ~4khz. I'm sure a few bands of EQ will really make them shine. Inductance is super low so they should be able to keep up with quick midbass demands.
