So I've been combating my rear deck rattles for years now and want to finish up taming the very last bit of rattles I have. I've deadened practically my entire car except a few parts but the main problem is the rear deck. I used Spectrum Sludge on the inside of my PLASTIC rear deck. Underneath it is a huge layer of Overkill Pro and then dynamat all over the the metal frame. I removed the rear 6x9's and covered it up as much as possible essentially turning my trunk into a giant sealed box if you will. Even after all this, the plastic part still rattles like crazy. My trunk is solid and heavy as fukk so there is no rattles there that I know of. I'm planning on getting 6" aeroports and sticking them in those holes and removing the Overkill Pro that I have in there. I will probably add a baffle between the port and seal it up good with some leftover damplifier pro that I have. I will add more weight to the plastic panel and if it comes down to it, I might even cut the plastic speaker grill to release some tension and fabricate some speaker cloth with some neo magnets or something. IDK.. I just wanna do something about this. Most annoying thing ever. Can't even enjoy the bass at loud volumes because of this problem.
Car is a 04' Toyota Corolla. What do you guys think? Will the ports make the sound more peaky or what? I remember when I added the overkill pro, it made the bass a bit more quiet than before so I'm expecting to gain some SPL from this and more clarity.
