pioneer vs. eclipse

I'm thinking about upgrading my head unit soon with a double din nav system. I'm looking at rather the Pioneer Avic Z1 or a high end eclipse double din. Has anyone had experience with any of these products, and what do you think. I still want great sound qualitites plus awesome features.

Eclipse Hu's are great they really concentrate on there sound quality but now if your going for both looks and sound quality that would be pioneer

Hard to go wrong with either of those choices.

Compare them, see if either one has features that the other one doesnt. If that is all equal, then pick one based on warranty/price/personal preference.

Thats odd......because I always thought looks would be a personal preference thing.

I have the AVN 6600 and love it. The nav is amazing and the deck sounds very good. I was going between that and the z1 and chose the 6600 mainly becasue of price. I did play with the z1 at a shop and i thought it had a significant lag time when switching sources or songs, which would have drove me nuts. The only thing i could find the pioneer really had over the 6600 was 7" screen(which i have to admit was pretty nice looking) hard drive and blue tooth capability(you still have to buy adapter to use the bluetooth i believe) and i have an ipod so a hardrive didnt have much of a purpose for me and i have 3 bluetooth headsets to which its a pain in the *** to get my treo connected to em anyways. If you need the hard drive eclipse has the 5495. Also to bypass the z1 you cant just ground the ebrake wire, you have to actually modify the harness i believe.

which pinoneer and eclipse HU model # can run a true 3-way EQ? im lookin to replace my 9847
