pioneer sub help

hey, I just bought a pioneer 12" ts-w126 for $30 and put it in a pre fab ported box. I was just going to sell it or keep it for a backup but when I listened to it it was actually way better/ louder than I thought it would be. I usually go after sq not spl and have a better sub now but I wanted to know if anybody knows anything bout this sub and if its any good? if I put it in a spec box will it be a good sounding sub?
