hey guys just out of curiousity, i am currently having problems with my pioneer premier deh-p960mp, so my question is which is a better unit (thinking of getting something different if i cant fix)

premier deh-p960mp or premier deh-p980bt

i can fix (or buy the same again) or get the newer unit, but im not sure which one has a better rating, any suggestions?

Other than the grounding issue, I dont know of any major problems the new decks have. Just make sure your deck has a good solid ground to the chassis, and I wouldnt worry about it.

I'm done with Pioneer. Just got back my 880 that was supposedly fixed...and no sh$t...same noise. I even grounded the chassis well this go round. Navigating this thing sucks anyway...880 for cheap....

what would you guys recommend besides eclipes? im in the market for a HU and i need a detachable faceplate

i was thinking about getting this one

i could get it for like $200 since my friend works at bestbuy

i think hus at the same price point sound about the same.a $150 kenwood sounds like a $150 clarion or alpine more of less.i bet if we blindfolded people and set everything flat on the hus no-one would be able to accurately identify manufacturers. get a new in box 3year old hu that used to sell for $500 for $200 (cos its an older model), it will sound better than any new $220 hu. imo.

That could be true in this case. Untill now though I have had few issues with all my equipment, car and home. All mfgs have problems. To say that Pioneer has more than others is false. Maybe its because they sell more head units that they seem to have more problems??
