Pioneer REV's — How are they?

I have a 2002 WRX (car is amazing), but when I throw on one of my new club traxx the bass begins to fart when I have the volume at 20 (max is 40). So I have decided that it is time to work on the audio part of my car rather than looks.

Time to end the foreplay.

I have heard that the Pioneer REVs are pretty fawking insane front door speakers that make everything sound great. Basically I am considering these right now. If not, I have looked at some MB Quart component systems, but I don't have $800 to toss around. Only $600 (only, haha). So whats the verdict? Stick with the REVs? Or go with another component system/speaker pair.

if your only complaint is the bass farting you may want to look into a small sub...maybe a 10 or even an 8. but you may also want to consider a new HU, it will put more watts into your speakers making your system sound better all around.

i know, how about don't use headunit power at all....buy a large 5 channel amp and run all your speakers off of that, but of course replace the factory ones, then add a nice 10 inch sub to handle the low lows..

I am convinced that its the two front speakers that just can't handle the sound. And I MUST have bass, otherwise people die.

Would it be wise to replace the speakers in addition to getting an amp to power them all?

I'll believe a 454 in a s-10 when i see it. They barely fit under the hood of a silverado.

just bc he has a subaru wrx doesn't mean hes a ricer. It seems you have a problem with imports from what it sounds like. Plus, why do you prejudge ppl bc they ask ?s and you give them shiz like "you sound like a ricer" or you might say "why don't you get a v8 muscle car(typical of all ppl)." All im saying is don't put down other ppls cars or stuff just cause you don't like it, plus on this board, we are trying to help ppl, not badmouth them and give them no advice at all. they won't even want to be on this board at all. buy the Diamond Audio Hex systems. The best money can buy. They are the step above the best MB Quart shit you can buy. Even the M6 systems sound better than anything that most of the big names can throw at them.

i'd personally go with the MB Quart.

If you dont wanna drop all your $$$ in one setting do what I did. I added my subs first because the bass going to your door speakers is whats making them distort the most. If you get like 2 10"s or whatever then you can dial the bass out of your door speakers and make them sound a ton better untill you have enough to do the door speakers and amp.
