I just got a set of TS-C160R and I need to know if they are real. It seems like some descripton doesn't match. I have no gold bindings and the crossover cover seems different, and maybe some other things

i have the 5.25 off a memphis PR 100.2. ME liky alot. they love rap. hate rock though.... midbass i lackin but because they are 5.25's.... Tweets get harsh though sometimes after periods of loudness but same with most speakers lol.but i know if i had kickpanels that would fit inmy car for them the midbass would rock because i do. They just wont fit in my car but they sounded beautiful when i did.

ohh yea mine had gold plated like screws for the wiring connections... but the crossover looked the same...

could very well just be the older model revs. and thats why they dont have the screw down terminal. everything else looks the same as mine tho.

The picture you posted with the box shows the terminals. The item description on eBay even mentions the "Gold-plated binding posts".

Something doesn't seem right.... contact that seller, find out what's going on and maybe mention that you are willing to file a dispute for receiving an item not as described. Act quick.

Side note....Going through this seller's feedback, a buyer (artiesag1, third negative on the page) mentions your exact problem on the exact same item....

Those do seem a bit odd. The basket is totally different than mine(mine has 3 spoke basket) and so does that X-over. I say there bootlegs or the japanese model. If they were the old version the model # would be different. and also Im sure that they only made 1 version of REV components.

As you can see the 6.5 version has extra mounting tabs for 6.75 applications.

Contact Pioneer directly and ask them.

Would be the safest bet, IMO.

Finding knock-offs on ebay is not a rarity, unfortunately.

Comparing the speakers off of the Pioneer Website, I'm going to say those are knockoffs. The basket is different, no screw down terminals. They only made one model TS-C160R.
