Pioneer questions, specific and general

First off, I've got a problem with a pioneer dvd unit with flip out screen, avx-p7300dvd. Unit has partial functionality, mirrored in the buttons and the remote. Some functions work, some just don't, including power and retract. It gets the turn on signal from the IP bus of the main head unit, but doesn't register on the main head unit as a functional device. The head unit is a DEH-P840mp for reference, but it's fully functional.

I can get more specific if it rings a bell for anyone but I've got to go to work soon, just found this site on google.

My general question is that if nobody knows here, is there a pioneer specific forum or a car audio repair specific forum someplace that's any good?
