Pioneer Premier Warranty still good buying from Amazon.com??

I was going to buy the 880prs from ugotadeal off ebay, but I'm a little scared about not having a warranty. Amazon is suppose to be an authorized dealer for pioneer, but its other companies that are actually selling the product.

Does anyone know if pioneer backs the premier warranty when buying directly from amazon.com??

i am sure its valid, amazon only deals with legit vendors. just be sure you keep all the receipts and email confirmations that Amazon sends you. without these, then its not going to do any good.

The Premier warranty is void with any online purchase. Authorized Pioneer dealer or not.

I went to ugotadeal about 3 weeks ago (they have a storefront in Brooklyn, NY) to pick up an 880prs. I know they have great feedback on eBay but it just felt like a shady place to me. Gut instinct said not to buy from there, I don't know what it was.

Anyway...like any purchase from an unauthorized dealer, proceed with caution.

well amazon.com is an authorized dealer through pioneers website. I dont see why pioneer wouldn't back it up when you can only buy from amazon.com online?

You gotta read the fine print. Pioneer's website shows authorized dealers and lists the specific product lines those dealers are authorized to sell. As far as I know, the Premiere line is not authorized for online sales.

I could be wrong, though. If the warranty issue is a concern, your best bet is to e-mail Pioneer to be sure before you buy.

Speaking on the issue, I called pioneer today about having my 880 fixed and they referred me to a local electronics store while also telling me that as long as I had the receipt the warranty would cover it. I bought mine from ebay also.

Repair shops have been told not to honor purchases made online. Some can't tell the difference between a local shop reciept and an online retailer but if they see you had it shipped from Texas to Maine they will figure it out pretty quick.
