Ok so me and my family have decently decided to put a theater room on our third floor (totally empty, so space is not an issue). I dont think well be using a TV, and we have been comtemplating a pull down screen and a projector, mostly for price im sure, but is it really worth it? Would it be better to buy a pull down screen or to have a white wall that the projector displays on? What kind of projector should we look into? What resolution? What brands should we be looking at? What brands should we stay away from? What kind of picture do these things really produce? Would a say 37-42 inch LCD HDTV be worth the money to upgrade to?

Next is audio, im pretty sure weve got this figured out for the most part. For substage im planning on doing either 2 Fi Q 10s off maybe ~400 watts in an IB setup or 1 18 inch Fi BL IBed with ~5-600 watts.

For rear stage we already have two Cerwin Vega AT-8s that sound good. For front stage we are still looking. I know she really likes bose (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif i know) but i dont think we will go with that, i really dont know much about home audio so i need some insight on brands i should look at and stay away from etc., we want them for pretty much SQ only.

As said space is no real issue, budget id say is around 3k but no more than 4k.

optima for projector preferably high def at least 720p

monoprice for wires and projector screen

speakers well its best you go out and listing to some.

receiver onkyo

i also think you should go with the 1-18.

Sounds like a fun project! If you want to come and listen to the Axioms, let me know. Bring your favorite beer and CD's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

remember you have to change the lamps every time they go out, some are pricey.
Another reason why im looking at the Lumenlabs.

I really like that one, she does too, any idea on when it ships out?

Anyone got any answers to the white wall or pull-down screen yet?

supposed to ship this month

If you do IB subwoofers make plans for a future upgrade path. People usually

do four 15's or four 18's IB to start just to get SPL high.

This gal is going to install 12 18" woofer IB. Three modules of four 18" woofers.

She installed her first module driven by a QSC PLX amp as was very impressed

compare so her previous store bought subs.

If you are limited to only one woofer then build a sonosub, EBS design tuned

to 17hz give or take. Choose a good woofer for an EBS design.
