Pioneer [Premier?] headunits

I was curious about what makes people decide between Pioneer or Premier headunits. I compared two of the same and there was very little differences; warranty, preout voltage and impedance, ASL, and different screensaver movies. Same item with just a few different changes; same price. Could someone clear this up?

Actually they're not supposed to be the same price. Supposedly the Premier should be a little more expensive. I could never go with NON-Premier myself knowing that for a little more $$ would get me better pre outs and most importantly an extra year of warranty.

The major difference is that Pioneer didn't abandon its independent retailers like Eclipse and Kicker have started to do recently, and they have the Premier line to help the smaller businesses deferentiate themselves from box stores (similar to Sony Specialty Series, Kenwood Excelon). Of course, they also do it to have a larger market share. In most cases, the price difference in MSRP is literally 10$, and it is 10$ well spent.

There used to be pretty big differences between the two 5yrs back or so......anymore, those small differences you mentioned are about it. But, as was mentioned.....there's only about a $10-$20 difference, and the Premier has a longer warranty. Pretty much no reason not to go with the Premier if you are buying authorized.
