I've had a Pioneer Premier headunit that I bought about 2-3 years ago which was top of the line at the time. Its age might be the problem in itself but heres what happened. One day, the faceplate stopped folding down to reveal the LCD display, but everything still worked fine. About a month later, the headunit stopped working all together. It wouldnt turn on when the car was on. All of a sudden it came back on one day and everything was fine. All speakers were working. Few weeks later, the headunit was still working, but all of a sudden, the amps (JL 300x2 powering front components and a sub amp) would not power on. The only sound that I was getting was the unamped rear speakers. And now of course, the headunit won't even turn on.
I'm a little confused whether the problem is with the head unit, amps, or car electronics in general. I've checked all fuses that I know about (car fuse box, sub amp fuse) and checked general connections (into back of headunit, made sure component RCA's were connected properly).
Might it be a simple problem being the wiring harness to the headunit is just old? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
