my bros got a deh p9400 i think...how is this cd reciever...it looks awesome the animations and all...and its actually pretty old and he payed 600 for it from a local kid around here..it was like 800 retail..i was wondering how it was compared to my alpine 9830 because hes 23 and hes gettin outta car audio and i might be able to get the cd receiver off his hands

i am so confused about your thread.

your title says pioneer P9 and yet youre talking about the p9400?

anyways, the 9400 is a decent HU although your bro got ripped a new one paying that much for it. if he's selling for a good price, i'd say you should buy it.

To answer your first question the 9400 owns the 9830. If that head unit was barely used and he knew the guy he bought it from really well then I could see paying 600 for it but other than that I wouldn't have. All that aside its a great head unit but it only has 4 volt pre outs compared to the 6.5 volts its counter part (DEH-P940) has. But none the less it has lots of great features including network mode.

ok the reason why i put p9....is its not a p9400 scratch that..i have to ask him to get the exact model number...it doesnt look like the p9400 bigger screen...but it was p9 something..anyways the animations are awesome, one is a spacescape and the other is a race car and all that good stuff. And what i like is it has a off air on air mike when the radio is playing and it shows the station title..i know for sure its better then the p9400 i should of posted with valid information..sorry about that
