Pioneer IP-Bus not recieving

Hey guys, first time post, been a lurker for quite some time though...

Anyway, problem at hand. I have a pioneer premier DEH-P670MP head unit and have been trying to get XM hooked up. I bought all the necessary tuners and such and got a XM preview channel. I followed XMs online instructions, purchased an account and was up and running. I was listening to my fully functional XM radio for about a day when I heard an electrical "Shorting" sound come out of the speakers and the head unit turned off. When I turned it back on everything was fine, but alas, NO XM RADIO. Now I cannot even get it to say XM, just tuner and copact disc.

My question to you is, what did I do, and how do I fix it? I have aterrible feeling that I messed up the IP-Bus on the head unit and can only remedy the situation with a new one. I hope that is not the case. Hope this is plenty of info.

Thanks in advance I look forward to your help.

Ive switched out wires and the only fuse I found is coming from the pionner adapter, there is not one on the tuner. This fuse is fine and there is power coming in and going out of it.

If it helps I think the tuner box touched the metal frame...

The tuner can touch metal, the case isn't running positive. As for the fuse, there most definitely is one on the power lead to the XM tuner unless you cut it off or unless you're using the 2-piece XM adapter & tuner. If that's the case, grab the tuner from Wal Mart or Best Buy as a test to see if it works. If not, you can return it.

Also, strange as it sounds, make sure you're using the right connection. On the Pioneer one-piece XM tuner you have the blue & black IP-bus connectors. Make sure you're using the black output connector. Your deck is the blue input, so the flow is to the deck, not out to the IP-bus accessories.
